Claude Code can work while you sleep — scheduled tasks run on Anthropic's servers

💡 Routines run Claude Code tasks on a schedule via Anthropic's servers — even when your machine is off. Create with /schedule.

Routines are scheduled Claude Code tasks that run on Anthropic's infrastructure — they keep working even when your computer is off. Think: morning PR reviews, overnight CI failure analysis, weekly dependency audits, or syncing docs after every merged PR.

You can create them from the web, the desktop app, or by running /schedule in the CLI. They can trigger on a cron schedule, API calls, or GitHub events (like a new PR opened).

For tasks that need access to your local machine, there are Desktop scheduled tasks that run on your computer. And for quick polling within a session, /loop 5m /my-command repeats a prompt every 5 minutes.

The bigger picture: Claude Code isn't just a tool you interact with — it's a system you can set up and let run. The combination of routines, hooks, and MCP servers means you can build sophisticated automated workflows that watch your repos, analyze issues, and take action without you being there.
