Claude Code follows the Unix philosophy — and that makes it dangerously powerful
💡 Use -p for non-interactive mode, pipe data in/out, and chain with Unix tools. Claude Code is composable, not just interactive.
Claude Code isn't just interactive. It's composable — you can pipe data into it, run it in CI, and chain it with other Unix tools. This is where it goes from "helpful assistant" to "automation engine."
Pipe your logs: tail -200 app.log | claude -p "summarize any errors and suggest fixes"
Review changed files: git diff main --name-only | claude -p "review these files for security issues"
Automate in CI: claude -p "translate new strings into French and raise a PR"
The -p flag runs Claude in non-interactive mode — it processes the prompt and exits, perfect for scripts and automation. You can also resume previous conversations with claude --continue or claude --resume to pick an older session.
Every response can be piped further. Claude Code is just another tool in your Unix toolchain.
