A+ content: turning a page into a branded experience
💡 Enhanced/A+ content is conversion real estate — comparison charts and brand storytelling that lift sales and cut returns — but it's usually not search-indexed, so keep discovery keywords in titles, bullets, and attributes.
Beyond the standard fields, most major retailers offer enhanced content — Amazon calls it A+ Content, Walmart has "Enhanced Content," others use "rich media." These are template-driven modules lower on the PDP: comparison charts, banner images, feature callouts, brand story, sometimes video.
Why it matters: enhanced content is where a brand escapes the identical-template sameness and actually looks like itself. It reliably lifts conversion (retailers regularly cite mid-single-digit to double-digit percentage gains) and reduces returns by setting accurate expectations. A comparison chart is especially powerful — it keeps shoppers on your page choosing between your models instead of bouncing to compare with rivals.
The catch is that enhanced content is usually not indexed for search the way titles and bullets are — its job is conversion, not discovery. So the strategy splits cleanly: put your discoverability keywords in title, bullets, and attributes; put your persuasion and brand story in A+ modules. Beginners who dump keywords into A+ content and forget them in the searchable fields get the worst of both worlds.
