You don't heal emotion — you integrate it
💡 Emotions aren't resolved by understanding or removing them, but by feeling them completely in the body without a story attached.
Brown makes a subtle but pivotal distinction: the goal is not to heal, fix, or get rid of an emotion. It's to integrate it. The very attempt to remove a feeling is another form of resistance that keeps it stuck.
Integration happens through what he calls felt-perception — dropping out of the analyzing mind and into the raw physical sensation of the emotion in the body. You don't ask why you feel it or search for the story behind it. You simply feel it, fully and without agenda, and let it move.
This is why Brown distrusts endless emotional 'analysis.' The mind can dissect a feeling forever without ever releasing it. Integration is wordless: an emotion, once genuinely felt to completion, no longer needs to keep announcing itself through your reactions.
